Pagan Community

I’ve lamented about my desire to live in a Pagan community and how it seems an impossible feat to me.

Norse Alchemist apparently feels the same as me. He waxes in this three part series “Creating a New Era” Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.

I don’t agree with all of Norse Alchemist’s beliefs, specifically his bit about violence and guns in Part 2, but overall the ideas he puts forth are a great frame to further the conversation. Pagans will need electricans and other skilled tradespersons to (literally) build the community, farmers to feed the community, teachers to teach the children (and adults!), and holistic and western medical professionals to treat our sick and injured. We will also need jobs so we can buy what we cannot produce ourselves.

After typing that last sentence, I wonder how self-suffienct Pagans want. Will it depend on each individual community? Will urban, suburban, and rural communities exist simultaneously? Will they interact peacefully or adversarily? The answer, my friends, is simple: however we want!
